A Pennsylvania native, Michael has spent the greater part of his career developing his craft in the “DMV” A.K.A. DC, Maryland, Virginia metro as an Art Director/Creative Director. (Creative Folio) Over the years Michael has worked with various agencies and entertainment networks including Discovery Channel, National Geographic, and History Channel before moving to the South in 2012 where he was invited to work with a Hilton Head Island-based agency, BFG Communications, now 9Rooftops Marketing, as both a Creative Director who would oversee the South Carolina Tourism account and establish the agencies first full-service in-house studio as its founding Director, originally branded as “BFG Studio,“ now 9Rooftops Studio.
With 20+ years of creative development, photography, and production for the entertainment industry, outdoor lifestyle brands, food & beverage groups to the hospitality, travel & leisure industry, Michael’s award-winning work has enabled him to collaborate with some of the world’s biggest brands on both sides of the lens. As the driving creative force behind award-winning work for brands including Discovery, Nat Geo, Filson, Simpson Motorsports, GE, South Carolina Tourism, and more his approach is best described as holistic. inclusive and always research-driven, Michael challenges the possibilities of what the creative ask is while never losing sight of the clients’ needs.
Michael earned his bachelor’s degree from Kutztown University and when he wasn’t in class or working 3 jobs, YES 3 jobs he would still find time to pursue his passion for fishing. Even now when he’s not in the studio or on assignment you’ll find him walking a stream hunting for native rainbows with a cigar in hand. Fly Fishing is his time to focus on only one thing, trophies. Tying flies and building rods he brings his love for the sport full circle, make it, use it, catch & release it, and repeat.
