So you’re considering your first track day?
Well you’ve come to the right place. Riding on the track will help you build your confidence and motorcycle handling skills. Our Ninja 400’s are easy to maneuver and a LOT of fun! No need to be intimidated by the track. There are riders at every level here.
You do not need a motorcycle license to rent a motorcycle, but we do recommend taking the motorcycle safety course or having some experience.
If it’s your first track day, we recommend purchasing the protection plan. The protection plan is NOT insurance, but will limit your liability IF you do crash.
Minors will be allowed on a case by case basis. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out if you’re eligible to ride as a minor. The track day provider may also have restrictions based on age.
Safety gear is available for rent. That includes a track suit (leathers), boots, gloves, and back protector. We do not rent helmets. Add these items to your cart at checkout.
Your track day spot is in addition to your motorcycle rental. Purchase your track day spot directly with the track day provider. If the event that you want to attend is sold out, let us know and we may be able to get you into the event. Please let us know at least a week prior to the event or it may not be possible.
Daily Track Day Schedule (9:00 am – 5:00 pm)
You’ll want to arrive to the track around 7:30 am, so that you’ll have ample time to check-in at the track day provider’s registration booth and try on any safety gear you may have rented with us. You do not need to worry about teching your bike, because we will take care of that for you. After checking-in, bring your helmet and other gear to our pit (blue Feel Like a Pro/Riderz Law canopies), sign your waiver, try on gear, and get acquainted with your hangout spot for the day. Bring your friends and family as well. We will have fruit, pastries, and coffee waiting for you. Water and Gatorade will be available for you all day so stay hydrated!
There will be a mandatory rider’s meeting between 8:00 and 8:30 depending on the track day provider. You will find out what time when you check-in that morning.
If this is your first track day, then you should be assigned to C group (B- for Carters) session. Sessions are 20 minutes long and will go all day except for a break for lunch (12-1 or 1-2). Your first session will begin with sighting laps. Sighting laps are lead-follow only and a great way to become familiar with the track at a slow speed.
For more advanced instruction, you should sign up for a few sessions with Dave Moss. We offer Dave Moss coaching at select events. You’ll see it in the optional add-ons of it’s available for that specific day. Just add the coaching sessions to your cart and you’re all set.
If you want a track map to study, just ask us for one. If you want advice on the best lines, braking points, reference points, gearing or any other questions, please let us know. We’ll be happy to chat!
